International Silver for vegan lifter
Ramona Cadogan has stormed to the podium at the Pan Am games.
The vegan Olympic-style lifter has competed at the competition which attracts lifters from the North and South American continents. Ramona competed in her veteran age group category.
All lifts went overhead and she had successful snatches at 46 kg, 49 kg and 52 kg. A good clean and jerk at 62 kg gave her second place. It was close with the 65 kg and 68 kg that followed, the 65 kg would have given her the win.
After disappointment at the Nationals this year, Ramona said she “I truly love the redemption.”
“I put out to give it my ALL on the same platform that left me without a total” she says. “I cannot wait to do it again to keep overcoming from all different types of experiences. Onward and upward all the way at 110%!!!”
Ramona stopped eating meat in 2006 and was soon vegan.
“I discovered on my own through my own feelings about animal cruelty that I must go vegan” she explains.
