Huge Deadlift Sparks Vegan Lifter’s Emotional Triumph
She added 30 kg to her total to smash her personal best and take the win.

The All England’s Powerlifting Championships witnessed something special as Amelia Fox defied her young years to record some breathtaking lifts.
Just last year she was lifting at Junior level, and now the South-coast powerhouse took the senior division by storm.
Weighing in at just under 61 kg she squatted a personal best 165kg before benching 85 kg – a shade over her previous heaviest. Her deadlift was an unbelievable 215 kg (almost 44 stone), over 3.5 x bodyweight and about the same as lifting three middleweight boxers
Amelia said the competition was a “great battle” in her division and wonders if her uncharacteristic passionate celebration of the massive deadlift challenges her title of “Most nonchalant lifter”!
Amelia has been vegan since age 17 in 2019 and says “I initially was hesitant to make the change, but the more I learned about animal rights and veganism, the more I realised how weak my excuses were and how nothing could justify the way animals are treated.”
Congratulations Amelia!
