Vegan bodybuilder is fit to win

Vegan bodybuilder Shelli Beecher-Seitzler has competed in the largest US West Coast event – and taken the title again.

The Washington State Natural Puget Sound Pro/Am was one she was keen to compete in. The event is well known due to it’s size and prestige, and Shelli has a fantastic record in Fit Body. Shelli took the overall Pro class win for the second time. The win leaves her undefeated in the Fit Body category.

The 48 year old turned vegan in 2014 and credits it with her rapid rise to success in her sport. She won her Pro card in her first competition in 2018, shortly after starting to train .

Since the win Shelli saw another benefit of her approach to food.

Shelli’s undergone surgery for stitches removal from umbilical hernia repair in 2014 and a significant diastasis recti repair.

“Due to my organic whole Foods vegan diet and physical conditioning, I have been able to recover without the use of post surgery prescribed oxycodone” she says. She’s also documented a remarkable quick healing. Shelli has shown her ”exceptional healing recovery from 6 inch lower abdominal cut”. It shows that her attention to nutrition pays off.

“Had this surgery not been necessary, I would be competing this upcoming weekend in WNBF Worlds in Las Vegas” she says. “I will look forward to competing next year in Worlds!”
