Budjargal runs for six days to take the Gold

Vegan runner Budjargal Byambaa has taken another race win over a massive distance.

The 38 year old Mongolian entered the epic six day event at the Live at the Fair race in New Jersey, USA.

The event is continuous, meaning all stops for eating, sleeping, physiotherapy and toilet breaks use up the race time. Budjargal completed an amazing 477 miles on the one mile course.

One of 48 competitors, Budjargal led by 43 miles.

Budjargal has won other high profile events and holds the 24 hour record for Mongolia. He had been vegan since January 2019 after discussions with a doctor. “She told me that naturally suited food for human body is not animal related food, it is plant based food” he explained.

He also says that “becoming vegan helped me to find my inner strength.”
