Wheelchair basketball player in Paralympics final
Sarah Stewart may be searching for a Gold medal to add to her Silver and Bronze from the last two Paralympics. The Australian philosophy teacher has been one of the most impressive players in the Australian national league for a number of years and now takes on the world's best in the London games.
"I am honoured to be competing for selection for the London Paralympics and maybe get the chance to compete at my third Games – there is nothing like the feeling of putting on the green and gold and representing Australia."
A vegan for health, ethics and envirnomental reasons, Sarah tweeted about the provision of vegan food at the athletes village (which seemed good). We'll be watching her progress in the games and updating things here.
UPDATE:
Sarah won a Silver – see the other news item.
