Vegan fighter retains world title
World Cruiserweight boxing champion Lawrence Okolie has retained his title.
The 200 lb Londoner saw his second defence of the WBO World title go the distance after putting his opponent on the canvas in the fifth round. He won unanimously on points and now has a record of 18 wins from as many professional bouts.
On the undercard, vegan Cheavon Clarke made his professional debut after a long amateur career. Also at cruiserweight, Cheavon opened his account with a convincing win in the second round.
Okolie has been vegan for three years and talk is all about a unification bout with one of two fighters. Meanwhile promoter Eddie Hearn expects him to eventually move to heavyweight division.
