Sarah Stewart plays in the World Championships
Sarah Stewart has just finished competing in the World Championships where her team finished sixth.
The preliminary round saw her team register a 90-10 win over Peru, the highest score of the competition, as well as beating France and Mexico before being edged out by Holland – where Sarah was the team’s highest scorer.
The group stage matches put Australia into the quarters where they were beaten by eventual winners and hosts Canada. This gave them consolation playoff matches which left them finishing sixth.
The event was the largest women’s wheelchair basketball World Championships ever, and the first time it had been held separately from the men’s. It featured over 400 athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers.
