French Bench sets a record for vegan lifter
Facing the best from home and abroad at the French Open, the vegan powerlifter looked to extend her already incredible numbers.

Alison Huet already has multiple French titles in bench, and has been recording her determined training on her Instagram account. She was ready to take it further, competing in the 57 kg raw category.
She did exactly that with a 2.5 kg addition to her personal best in squat, which is now 155 kg and well over double bodyweight.
Alison’s bench of 108.5 kg set a new French national record.
She also matched her personal best in deadlift with 175 kg. The total of 438.5 kg added 5 kg to her personal best and represents a massive total for this category at 7.7 times bodyweight.
“If you only knew how much fun I had on the platform, smiling from start to finish, the total trust I had with my coach, and after so many years of competition, it’s not every day that something like this happens, and it felt AMAZING” she said afterwards.
“I had so much fun with every attempt, every warm-up, every moment of the preparation”.
Vegan Power
Alison stopped eating all animal products in 2017 out of concern for animals.
“I could not stand anymore to eat the living beings that I love so much and that are raised, killed and slaughtered the way they are just for us to eat, while we can have a different way to eat. Because people cannot have a reasonable consumption of meat, animals are treated and raised inhumanely.”
“I eat a lot of soy, pea, legumes or gluten for protein sources” Alison says “which are very important in my diet. And of course a lot of fruits, vegetables, I love cooking.”
