Double Euro Gold for Kettlebell athlete
She returned to competing in two different events - and won both

Hege Jenssen has added to her kettlebell achievements with another and taken two more European Golds.
“In recent years I have only been doing ‘snatch’ the Norwegian champion said, “but for the first time since 2017, I also participated in the exercise ‘longcycle’ (clean & jerk).”
Until 2018, women weren’t allowed to lift two kettlebells, and perform ‘longcycle’ or ‘jerk’ with double bells. Hege took up the challenge readily.
She completed 195 reps in 10 minutes of snatch. This was followed with 65 reps longcycle. This was double Gold in the veteran category.
Amazingly, the 195 was not a season’s best. Hege entered the IKO California online competition in February and won that with a massive 220.
“Training for both snatch and longcycle took some reps away from me, but it was important for me to try for longcycle (clean and jerk) again” Hege says. “I haven’t done that since World Championships in South Korea 2017, where there was trials for women competing with double bells (longcycle).”
Hege has been vegan for fifteen years and represents NOAH, the Norwegian animal rights organisation.
She eats a lot of oats, tofu, chickpeas, tahini, potatoes, carrots, beets, broccoli and cauliflower. “I also love to eat everything in a wrap. And of course different berries and fruits, mostly oranges and apples. Nut butter is almost too good and best straight from the jar.”
