Ana takes another National title in the mountains
Vegan runner Ana Cufer returned to competition in the Slovenian national mountain running competition.
Vegan runner Ana Cufer returned to competition in the Slovenian national mountain running competition.
The 25 year old, who tuned vegan in 2015 has a fantastic record at longer races. This time she faced a relatively short 11 km – with 750 metres of height gain. The run would take her up and then down a mountain on trails.
Ana led the race at all three checkpoints and finished first by over two and a half minutes. She finished in 0:57:11, one just two runners to beat the hour. She adds this to her win the last time the nationals were held, in 2019
Ana gave up meat in 2008 aged 12 and later became vegan after learning about cruelty in the animal farming industry.
“I wasn’t strong enough to be able to watch all the real videos about how vegetarianism is not enough and how animals really suffer and are exploited,” she says.
Ana’s love of running is evident and we can expect to see more great results from her in the future.
