Plant-based thunder wins another to add to remarkable stats

Snooker ace Neil Robertson has taken a dramatic win to take the English Open and illuminate an incredible record.

The Australian vegan lost the final 9-8 last season. This year it was looking like another losing final when he was trailing 8-6. He won three to force a decider and then took the title.

Neil has now won a ranking tournament every season for ten seasons. The record is eleven from the now-retired Stephen Hendry, and one Neil must surely be thinking about.

Nutritional approach

The ‘Thunder from Down Under’ turned to a plant based diet in late 2014 to help his concentration and performance. “I felt I needed to eat healthier to give myself the chance to get the most out of my career” he said in an earlier interview with Great Vegan Athletes.

He’s a big fan of smoothies and juicing, and is commonly seen on TV sipping a green smoothie during matches.

The long snooker season continues with the Champion of Champions event – which he has previously won twice.
