Vegan runner takes win in 48 hour ultra
King of the fixed term race, the vegan runner ran 275 km in 2 days to take another win.

Veteran of races including 6 days, 10 days and more, Budjargal Byambaa returned to Florida to win the Save the Daylight ultra.
He ran 172 miles to win by over 22 miles.
In 2022 Budjargal ran the 48 hour world championships and won the world title. He adds the latest victory to this and two victories at the ten-day Sri Chinmoy race. He has the course record for the Icarus Florida 6-day race and the national 24 hour record for his home nation of Mongolia. 2021-2 he ran 1111 km to win the Across The Years ten day race.
Budjargal has been vegan since January 2019, originally intending to boost his athletic performance.
“Veganism is the right choice for me, it improves my physical strength” he says. “It helps me to transcend my physical self, moving to the next stage of my spiritual development and growth.”
