Vegan power at Arnold Sports festival
The French powerhouse took on 17 of the world’s best in the 82 kg category.

Angeline Berva continued her impressive form with another devastating performance at the Arnold Sports Festival Strongwoman competition.
Last year she won the Official Strongman European Championships u82 kg and Static Monsters – as well as competing at World’s Strongest Woman.
There were seven events:
- Axle Deadlift for max weight (Angeline managed 252 kg)
- Overhead ladder: 45 kg Dumbbell, 80kg log, 55kg dumbbell and 90kg log – which she completed.
- Frame carry, 211 kg
- Sled pull, arm over arm.
- Axle overhead – Angeline completed 4 reps at 100kg
- Duck walk to 152 kg power stairs
- Odd object loading
Angeline has been vegan since 2011. Then aged 17, she saw footage of breeding and slaughter conditions and made the change. She has no concerns about fuelling her demanding sport.
“I built my physique and my performance while being vegan. Many think that the two are incompatible – not at all. You can very well be vegan and reach a high level.”
