Vegan lifter takes World Championship bronze
She entered with the world’s best and booked a podium place!

Kate Paskin is celebrating after a fantastic performance at the World Masters Powerlifting Championships where she made the podium at this the highest level.
The diminutive 47 kg lifter squatted 92.5 kg. Her bench of 57.5 kg was a competition personal best by 2.5 kg, although she made it look easy with a smooth and solid lock out. An ambitious deadlift of 137.5 kg was also a comp personal best. She attempted 142.5 kg and was close to nailing it!
Overall she placed 3rd , partly as a result of the big deadlift which was the second biggest of the category.
Katie is vegan and has been since January 2018. She says “although I went vegan for the animals, it was the start of me getting into fitness and becoming the healthiest I’ve ever been!”
