UK title for Aussie vegan
Neil Robertson put in an excellent display of controlled snooker to win the UK Championship in December for the second time.
The 33 year old world number 3 participated in the first final in the competitions history between two non-UK players. He also made history by making the first maximum break in the UK final, racking up his 147 in the sixth frame on his way to a 10-5 win over China’s Liang.
The win was his eleventh in ranking tournaments, placing him joint sixth on the all-time list.
Neil spared us a few minutes following his victory to share his thoughts. “Winning the Champion of Champions event 2 weeks ago was my 1st "Major" title since being Vegan which was a very proud moment, but to then win the UK Championship and make a 147 in the final certainly was the icing on the cake!”
