The winning habit – another Sanremo ultra victory for Antonio
The Milano-Sanremo ultra is Europe's longest non-stop ultra.
Antonio di Manno has won some incredible races over extreme distances. The Milano-Sanremo seems to be a favourite as he’s won it twice before. The 285 km race takes in some breathtaking scenery as well as challenging mountain climbs, and is suitable only for the most able runners.
Antonio’s winning time of 32 hours 36 minutes was 94 minutes ahead of second place. It was his third win in a row.
Since 2015, Antonio has been vegan, a decision he made for animals.
“I am completely Plant-Based and I consider myself Vegan” he says. “It was completely ethical motivation. I have decided and made the change over night. Ethics for animals.“
He runs for the Vegan Power team, and has some impressive victory. He holds the Italian record in the Last Survivor format, has won the Italian running festival 100 mile race and the 2019 6 hour race Ore di Titina.
Antonio hopes he make people realise you can go vegan and be in great physical health.
