After almost two years away from competition, Shelli Beecher-Seitzler made a powerful return to the bodybuilding stage — proving once again that success in the sport is built on discipline, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to the process.

The 53‑year‑old WNBF Pro Card athlete set her sights on the ANBF Washington State Natural, finally stepping back into competition after three previous attempts were halted due to family commitments. For Shelli, simply reaching the stage was already a triumph.

“Competition was significant with seasoned pro Figure Bodybuilders completing their season as I’ve just begun,” she says. “An honor to share the stage with them!”

A Natural Athlete Through and Through

Shelli has always prioritised competing in organisations with strict anti‑doping standards. The ANBF event included polygraph testing before competition and thorough urinanalysis afterwards, aligning perfectly with her values as a natural athlete.

Despite a setback during the post‑show testing — she had to drink far more water than planned, affecting her separation and striation — Shelli refused to let it derail her performance.

And it didn’t.

She walked away with an extraordinary sweep:

  • Overall Champion – Pro Figure
  • Overall Champion – Open FemFit Physique
  • Overall Champion – Masters FemFit

A comeback doesn’t get much stronger than that.

Powered by Plants
Shelli was vegetarian for 20 years before going fully vegan in 2014, and her nutrition centres on wholefoods and high‑quality plant proteins.

“Many have asked how do I get my protein,” she says. “My answer is ‘only from plants that have all of the essential amino acids’. My dietary emphasis is on fermented soy beans, hemp seed protein and whole foods!”

Her approach reflects both her ethics and her performance goals — and clearly, it’s working.

Resilience Beyond the Stage

Shelli’s journey back to competition wasn’t straightforward. Recent family bereavements and moments where she chose to prioritise loved ones over competing have shaped her path and reminded her that even the strongest athletes face difficult seasons.

“During the hardest challenges of life, to recognize that it will pass and to stay the course of taking care of oneself. Dedication and consistency pays with compound interest for the effort put forth.”

Her return, her victories, and her message all underline the same truth: Shelli’s strength is not just physical — it’s deeply rooted in character, compassion, and consistency.
