Pro card no. eight for vegan bodybuilder!
Her determined programme of nutrition and training continues to pay off in her sixth decade.

SuzAnne Llano has done it again after taking a win in the Treasure Coast Naturals.
Just before her 55th birthday she added to her seven Pro cards with a win in Pro Figure. The win underlines her commitment to natural bodybuilding as a tested event. All her Pro Cards are at drug-free events.
SuzAnne was thrilled with the win.
“I’ve been vegan for a decade and competing in bodybuilding for 15 years” she tells Great Vegan Athletes. “I’m powered by plants for strength and energy. Eight pro cards in the Natural Federations where I respect the animals and prefer to love them not eat them. I’m setting an example for my two children who are Firefighters/Paramedics and for my grandchildren.”
Vegan decade
Ten years on from her transition to a vegan diet, we reflect on what SuzAnne previously said about her decision.
“I was convinced that my life would be richer, fuller and more healthy if I no longer consumed animals. My prime motivation was my health and longevity of life. After studying vegan nutrition and reading many books on the health benefits of eating a plant based diet I was hooked on being the best version of me possible. That wasn’t possible if I were adding to the suffering and destruction.”
