“Did it again didn’t I!” Lisa Gawthorne says after the latest win.

Known best for European and world titles in Duathlon, Lisa has seen success after success in running over recent years.

Taking to the track at the British Masters Championships she won Gold in the female vet 40 category and became British masters Champion.  She was the winner across all categories – and added the Northern Masters title as well.

The time of 18:16 was a personal best by a whopping 13 seconds.

Later Lisa found out that she had also broken a Northern Masters female v40 record by 4 seconds. “Really happy about that !” she says.

Lisa has been vegan since age 21; at 44 this means half her life has been plant-based.  She stopped eating meat aged 6. “I made the connection that meat was actually of animal origin and felt it was wrong to carry on eating any meat for that reason.”

“I am having a very strong and consistent season that’s for sure” she tells us.

“The right training with my coach Tony, the right races, the right nutrition – it’s a mix of all the above. My energy levels for racing have never been so high and just great I am running faster in my 40s than 20s !”
