Mongolian ultramarathoner runs 710km to win Ultra-Endurance Event
He loves fixed time events and has been world 48 hour champion.
Budjargal Byambaa has added to his successes with a win in China’s Xiamen 6-day race.
The Mongolia has returned to live in his homeland after several years in the USA and entered his latest gruelling event with his normal optimism.
Runners can rest whenever they like but the clock never stops, and Budjargal won with 710 km, averaging 118 km per day. The victory was also his in 2019, and he was pleased to return and collect another win.
He’s been vegan since 2019, initially after discussions with a medical expert. He also appreciates the spiritual aspect, which is a big part of his running.
“Veganism is the right choice for me, it improves my physical strength” he says. “It helps me to transcend my physical self, moving to the next stage of my spiritual development and growth.”
