Four Golds in the pool for vegan swimmer
Young vegan swimming sensation Or Tal has stormed to success again.
Young vegan swimming sensation Or Tal has stormed to success again.
Competing in the Emek Hefer Championships Or was one of 800 swimmers from 44 teams across Israel.
He 20 year old took Gold in the 100 metres freestyle, 200 metres freestyle and then entered the 400 metres freestyle. He also took Gold there. With more energy to spare he entered the 800 metres and took Bronze.
Or was also part of the mixed relay team and took Gold in the 4 x 50 metres.
The organisers also presented awards for the outstanding male and female swimmers. The men’s title was awarded to Or.
Vegan champion
Or has been vegan since age 9 and trains over four hours per day. He trains wth and competes for the Hapoel Bat – Yam Team.
He is a leading member of the team and they support his decision to be vegan.
“I swim in a great team and they know me as a vegan” he says. “They compliment me about my achievements and they even ask me what vegan food am I eating to be so strong.”
Or is an exceptionally successful swimmer for his age and is still getting better.
