Cam Awesome brings home another Gold
Cam Awesome travelled to the Dominican Republic with as captain of the US amateur boxing team just a few weeks after retaining the national title.

In his first match Cam faced the no.2 rated boxer from the home nation. Cam proved too strong for him and the fight was stopped in the first round with a decisive knock out.
Next was the Mexican champion. This fight went the full distance although the American superheavyweight champion won with the judges unanimous decision.
This put him into the gold medal match against the Dominican Republic’s champion. Some fighters and spectators had felt the judges to be supportive of home boxers and considered it possible that a fair decision may not be reached. However, Cam outclassed his opponent in a fight that went the distance and left the judges no option but to reach a unanimous verdict of victory for the American vegan.
Cam posted a few highlights videos on Facebook that showed immense strength, heavy bodyshots and some nice dance moves in celebration of the decisions.
The American team also returned home with the team trophy as team mates took home a good haul of medals.
