Catra Corbett completes her hundredth 100 miler

Catra Corbett has reached an incredible milestone with the completion of her one hundredth 100 mile event.

24 November 2013

The 48 year old Californian, vegan since she started running 17 years ago, is known for her boundless enthusiasm, flamboyant and colourful clothing and tenacity at long distance events.

Already 2013 has proved a successful year.  She was the overall winner at Razorback 100 mile beating all male finishers.  She was the first woman home in the San Bruno mountain 50 mile event, and won her age group at the relatively short Fort Ord 50k.  She also secured two second places in the ladies categories in 50k races.

This year she’s been training more with training partner Truman, her adopted dog, and has been aiming to complete the milestone before the year was out.

In September she completed a recent hundred miler (which was actually 140 miles) at Lake Tahoe. Javalina Hundred on October 26th and Rio Del Lago 100 (November 9th) followed by Run d’Amore as her 100th on 23rd November.

Catra has recently reflected on her first hundred miler in 1999, which means she has averaged around seven runs of 100 mile or more each year.

Run d’Amore turned into a fitting celebration of this milestone. Catra was given race number 100 and one of the race sponsor was her employer Whole Foods Market.  She finished second in 26 hours 26 minutes.

We can expect more from her in the future and pass on our congratulations on this massive achievement.
