Two National titles and a personal best for vegan Ana
She proved she can compete at the top over different distances as she piles on the miles.

Ana Stefulj is known as a distance runner with a win at the Euro Marathon and the all-time fifth fastest national Half Marathon time. She’s now shown her versatility with some fantastic times at shorter distances.
The Croatian vegan has won the National Half Marathon Championships in Osijek in a time of 1:17:13. She also won the 10,000 metres Championships in Zagreb, coming in at 35:33.
Ana had to miss the 5000m Championships but did compete at the Club and Team Championships where she flew through to record a PB of 16:59:94
She also won the Umag 2024 Half Marathon.
Vegan runner
Ana turned vegan in 2016 after 11 years vegetarian. All her top running performances have been vegan. She watched someone kill a chicken for food in their garden and started wondering whether this was different from killing another animal such as her own cat.
She says “you do not need to consume animals at all and still you are able to have a good (and I would say better) quality of life. And why not choose that over some other living being suffering?”
